About Laela

I’m a Certified Trainer and Behavior Consultant through the Dog Training Internship Academy in San Francisco. I’m a Family Dog Mediator, having completed the LEGS Family Dog Mediation course. I’m always engaged in continuing education, and I maintain memberships in the Pet Professional Guild and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. I’m insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.

When I’m not thinking about dogs, I play violin and viola and make art quilts.

My doggy muse is my boy Bacon, a young adult Trail Mix rescue dog and the unofficial mayor of the Eastlake District of Oakland.

my philosophy is to treat dogs and their people with kindness and compassion. my training is free of force and fear and is based on understanding the dog for who they are.
